Finding Inspiration and Growth in Every Generation

Pressco Products was founded in 1965 and originally named, Precision Spring and Stamping Corp. We are a long-standing family-owned and operated company, established by the late Elmer McHugh. The company has always been and continues to be a family-owned and operated business with generations of leadership. Every generation has continued with the same mission; an absolute pledge to complete customer satisfaction and producing high-quality products.

In 1965 the original 3,000 sqft building location in Kent, WA was designed and built by Elmer and his family. The original products that were produced were coil compression springs, die-cut stamped sheet metal, and press-bending sheet metal parts. They hand-built the custom tooling for each part needed. The first order Elmer ever had was for a small compression spring which was used in pinball machines. By 1970 Elmer decided to add onto the building which took the existing building from 3,000 sf to 7,800 sf which was quickly filled with additional machines and employees. Over the next 10 years, the capabilities of hydraulic and CNC machines were added as well as qualified employees to produce custom parts. These expansions enabled Pressco Products to manufacture increasingly complex and precise components that conventional machines had previously not allowed. In 1983 the company changed its name to Pressco Products to encompass our full range of capabilities which accelerated the growth of our CNC Machining center, CNC Punching center, CNC Programming, and CAD/CAM Services departments.

In 1987 Elmer retired and transitioned the business to Jack and Bob (who later left the company). Through the 1990's Jack and Bob expanded to adding Water Jet capabilities, and sheet metal forming with CNC Press Brakes. Starting in the new century (2000) additional CNC machines were added and older machines replaced while working through a tough economy the company has kept to its values and mission and have continued to succeed!

In the mid-2010's Jack transitioned the company operations to his son Sean McHugh, and son-in-law Todd Petchnick. In 2015 the late Jack McHugh officially passed the torch to the company's third generation. By 2017 the company officially outgrew it's original location in Kent, WA where it was located from inception and Karen McHugh (Jack's wife), Sean and Todd purchased a new-to-us 40,000 sqft machine shop building and made the massive move to Sumner, WA where we are currently located. Since the transition Sean and Todd have navigated the choppy waters conducting business through COVID-19. The aerospace industry was hit hard with a sharp downturn when the airline industry all but shut down. Coming out of the pandemic we have continued to upgrade machinery and added two CNC Smart Lathe machines and added 5th axis capabilities to our CNC Mill Machines. Since the pandemic, Sean and Todd have rebuilt and procured a robust team of leaders and production staff to ensure the longevity of the long-standing company for decades to come.
